Not the Most Exciting Day ….

For the first time I actually slept thru the night , despite the somewhat dubious Gyro I had the previous evening. It was probably the deep soft luxurious bed at the BnB.  Anyway, after a rather tasty breakfast I reluctantly departed and left Tosa with its very well to do visitors and set on my way.

Much of today was a bit boring, you sort of get used to the forests, farms and lakes, first world problem I know. But most of it was like this.

Well tonight’s stay is slightly different but also comfortable.

A Change of direction

The third Rune Stone along the way

Given that I’m still on NZ time I set off from Stockholm at 3:30 in the morning as the sun was beginning to lighten the sky and all car, truck and bus drivers were still in bed.

Now I had planned (in excessive detail) my route to Oslo over the next 10 days….. well those plans lasted 23 kms before the wind convinced me to head south towards either Halmstad or Malmo. Actually it was a wee bit more than the wind ‘cos I had be torn between the two options. The sky’s were blue but the wind was white capping the lakes and knee capping me whenever I turned into it. However, when with me it was wonderful.

Had also planned to do just a 50k cycle today, what with it being the first day but it ended up closer to 80 and my Garmin told me I would need 60 hours of recovery time. My body said, just a beer, thanks.

By the way can you imagine playing soccer on the pitch (above) after a beer or two?

Trosa Market Square

So I’m in Trosa on the coast. Which is a lovely quaint small town, or as the tourism blurb puts it “The picturesque town of Trosa, with its narrow alleys and charming shops, is a popular tourist destination. The low wooden building along Trosån to the outer pier contributes to this fact.” I think you have to have a lot of money to be here as well. But it is nice.

Let’s do the Time Warp again….

How I wish we could do the time warp ‘cos to get from one side of the world in 36 hours warps the body and mind, not just time. Anyway I’m in Stockholm and trying to walk off the effects of flight – but actually not succeeding. Guess which of these photos was taken in Gamla Stan?

Of course both were and they’re just 10 metres and 1 minute apart. Draw your own conclusions about herd mentality.

Good to be here, nervous as hell and so to bed
